MOVIE TRAILERS: Michael Fassbender proposes to Penelope Cruz with huge diamond ring before things turn sour in new The Counselor trailer
In real life, Penelope Cruz is happily married to fellow Spanish superstar Javier Bardem.
But she might want to reconsider her taste in men in the upcoming film The Counselor, in which she plays the fiancee of a greedy lawyer who might just get her killed.
A new international trailer released on Tuesday includes some unseen footage from the movie, which follows a lawyer (Michael Fassbender) and the trouble he falls into while pursuing a $20million cocaine deal.
Scroll down for trailer
Smiling for now: Michael Fassbender stars in The Counselor as a greedy lawyer who's engaged to Penelope Cruz's character Laura
The bling ring: The trailer shows the counselor slipping a massive ring on Laura's finger, though it appears he might not have the money for it
An early scene shows the counselor proposing to Cruz's character Laura with a massive glittering diamond.'I intend to love you until I die,' Fassbender's character says.
'Me first,' responds Laura, in perhaps a foreshadowing of the danger to come.
Hot and heavy: Michael's character seduces Penelope's character in one steamy scene
Romance: Cruz stars alongside her real-life husband Javier Bardem in the new thriller from director Ridley Scott
Those risks end up coming to fruition when the cocaine shipment is mysteriously lost - and the counselor's clients believe he's the one responsible for the mistake.
'They think we're all involved, don't they?' the panicked lawyer tells Westray.
Shady: Brad Pitt stars as the counselor's business associate Westray, who warns him that their client is out for blood after the deal goes wrong
Warnings: 'You should be careful what you wish for,' says Malkina (played by Cameron Diaz) to Laura
'No. Just you, counselor. You,' he responds. 'They don't believe in coincidences - they've heard of them, they just never seen one.'
Yet the flaming wreck of the deal comes down on not only the counselor but his fiancee as well.
The trailer shows Laura sprinting away and tripping as a man in black attacks her in a parking structure.
It's personal: Laura is targeted after the counselor's cocaine deal falls apart
Deadly force: An ominous figure walks toward the car of Reiner (Bardem), who is covered in glass after getting hit by another vehicle
Quick cuts of men getting shot, shattering glass and emotional breakdowns also help set the tone for the dark thriller.
'You are the world you have created,' states an unknown voice at the end of the clip. 'And when you cease to exist, this world you have created will also cease to exist.'
Anticipation has reached fever pitch for the Ridley Scott directed movie, which is scheduled to be released in the U.S. on October 25.
Symbolism: Cameron Diaz, who plays the mysterious Malkina, sports a cheetah-print tattoo on her back
What does it mean? Several scenes, including this safari getaway, feature cheetah imagery
Former Spice Girls's Mel B ramps up the sex appeal in a VERY busty scarlet dress as she co-presents The Today Show
As the former 'Scary Spice' of the Spice Girls, she became well known for her loud and boisterous personality.
But Mel B was making more of a visual mark on Tuesday and she co-hosted U.S. morning TV programme The Today Show.
The 38-year-old star showed off her curvaceous frame in a plunging scarlet dress belted at the waist.
Lady in red: Mel B busts out of her clinging red dress while co-hosting The Today Show in new York City on Tuesday
Mel teamed her striking frock with matching bright red lipstick and wore her hair in loose waves over her shoulders.
The star also managed to balance on some impressively vertiginous high heeled shoes as she filmed a piece to camera in front of fans in New York City.
She also seemed to be enjoying herself, tweeting a photograph of her on the show's set, along with the caption: 'Co hosting the today show all week in NY!! Did you guys like it?? Wearing my red lipstick.'
But there was no rest for Mel, despite her extremely early morning start.
The star later joined husband Stephen Belafonte for a joint workout around the streets of Manhattan, swapping her glamorous dress for an orange vest top, cropped workout pants and white trainers.
And in a busy day, Mel later stepped out in her third outfit, swapping her trusty trainers for spiky black heels, black trousers and a sparkly black vest top with white trim.
There was no sign on Tuesday of Mel's three daughters - Phoenix Chi , 14, Angel Iris, six, and little Madison who turns two-years-old next month.
Mel balances motherhood with a new role on the America's Got Talent judging panel, alongside Heidi Klum, Howard Stern and Howie Mandel.
She describes her jugding style as typically forthright, telling the website: 'I'm just inappropriate. You never know what will come out of my mouth.'

Staying slim and trim: Mel sported an orange vest top and white and tangerine trainers
Busy lady: Mel and Stephen emerge from a car in New York City before Mel headed to the America's Got Talent Studios
Happily wed: Mel and Stephen have been married for six years and have one daughter together
The star still has further ambitions to fulfil. 'I want to get my music out there,' she recently told zap2it.com. 'I just want a hot R&B single or a sassy single to represent. And my own talk show - that would be nice.'
However, she says she won't be returning to Broadway anytime soon after a tough stint playing Mimi in Rent several years ago.
'Broadway is hard work,' she says. 'It is tough when you can't put your kids to bed. Broadway is full on.'
